1. Change Colors

Sherri has color options built right in the customizer.  You can assign a primary color and an accent color.

The primary color controls the following:

  • Primary navigation background
  • Sidebar widget background
  • Footer widget background
  • Author box background
  • Widget Title background
  • Various WooCommerce areas

The accent color controls the following:

  • Text hover color
  • Button background color
  • Archive pagination background color

Navigate to appearance > customizer and adjust your colors to your liking or add a branding hex color code.

2.  Change text logo to a custom logo

The custom logo you have prepared to upload should be created to the dimensions of 800 x 200 px.  The actual size it will display at on the website is 400 x 100 px.  This is to allow a crisp image to display on all screen resolutions including the retina screens.

Navigate to appearance > customize > header image

3.  Change the header background color or upload a custom image

This is a special feature built into Sherri.  You can easily change the header background at the click of a button, no need to know any css, php or html coding!  Prepare an image, or textured background 1440 x 230 px.

Navigate to appearance > customize > header background

4.  Set up your navigation menus

Navigate to appearance > menus and create a new menu

Add pages, posts, categories, or custom links you your new menu.  You can reorder the items and nest them beneath one another to get your menu just as you desire.

Below the menu select the location you would like it displayed and then save your menu.

Sherri has the secondary navigation at the top and the primary navigation is below the header and sticky as you scroll and a footer menu that displays above the footer widgets.
