In order for your image to populate in the Genesis User Profile widget, you must add a profile image to Gravatar.com.  The email you use for your website must be the same email you use for WordPress.com and Gravatar.com or your image will not display.

To display the image in our sidebar that links to the portfolio page we used the following html code.  You can also use the Jetpack image feature or add a visual editor plugin.
